Potential Kitchen Disaster of the Day

I’ve decided to try to give you a recipe-of-the-day type thingy here. I figured I look up recipes at least once a day, why not pass along the ones I’m going to try out? If you try them as well we can discuss them. Or if you want you can ask me how a dish turned out.

There’s a free download(pdf) of a 97 page cookbook. “Free” makes me happy.

Machine-free Honey Icecream:

1/2 cup honey (180g or 6oz )
300mL (1 1/4 cups) double (heavy) cream
300mL (1 1/4 cups) pouring (single) cream
pistachios, to serve, optional

Place honey in a small saucepan and warm over a medium heat until really runny. Remove from the heat. Stir though double cream until smooth.
Whisk cream until it starts to thicken and form soft peaks. Fold whipped cream through the honey mixture and place in a freezer proof container. Freeze until you’re ready to eat – give it at least 3 hours

  1. sooo, this was only half a disaster. apparently, the fat content of cream here in the states is much less than in the UK. what we got was a frozen watery-milky mess that was honey flavored. and it tasted that way, as well.
